Pinnacle Student
Earns 2nd Place in NASA Contest
Katcha Papesh, a 3rd grade student at Pinnacle School,
won second place in a NASA-sponsored construction project. Katcha
and another 3rd grader worked together to build a truss for the
International Space Station that had to be over 24 inches long and hold
over 4 lbs of weight. The "Space Princesses" team won second place
against several 5-person teams of middle school and high school
students!
Katcha was at the Kennedy Space Center with
her mother Ronna Papesh and Pinnacle teachers Aaron Bork and Sasha Land
as part of Pinnacle's participation in the 2008 International Student
Media Festival.
According to Pinnacle Executive Director
Denise Lessow, "Engineering and construction are important elements of
Pinnacle's curriculum. We are so proud of Katcha for her
achievement at NASA."
