Welcome!

Pinnacle School is an independent, nonprofit school that serves students in grades K-12.  Our program is based on proven approaches in education. Students participate in a motivating curriculum with excellent teachers to develop both the tools to learn and confidence in their own abilities.  Class sizes are limited to twelve students.  In November 2009, we moved into a 7-acre campus with dedicated facilities for our main school, our integrated engineering and art lab, and our IDEA {Institute for Dyslexia Education and Awareness}.

Our students are bright and learn best by doing, listening, and thinking.  We specialize in teaching students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, and similar information processing differences.  Some students enroll because of challenges with reading, writing, and spelling; others may have experienced difficulties with comprehension, math, organizing information, or following sequences of directions.

The curriculum stresses academics while incorporating creativity and problem solving strategies.  We teach reading, language, writing, spelling, math, social studies, and science, along with classes in drama, communication, cooking, technology, music, and art.  Programs are aligned with the Indiana curriculum proficiencies and the recommendations of national education associations.

Admission to Pinnacle is based on a variety of criteria, including ability and interest in learning, samples of school work, a family interview, the results of evaluative screenings, and a student’s potential to benefit from our curriculum and learning environment.  There are limited openings annually; students are also admitted during the year as space permits.

At Pinnacle, students are encouraged to achieve their personal best in and out of the classroom.  We prepare students for the future by focusing on academics together with the development of leadership skills, team work, and self-assurance.  Students also have the opportunity to participate in student government, philanthropy, and after school activities to help build their individual skills, strengths, and talents.
